Lecturer – Department of Teacher Education: Crop Science (1 Post)
Overview
To teach at undergraduate and graduate level in areas allocated by the Chairperson of Department and reviewed from time to time by Chairperson of Department.
To prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials and practical classes.
To carry out research and produce publications, or other research outputs, in line with personal objectives agreed in the Staff review process.
To engage with the broader scholarly and professional communities in line with academic and university policy.
To supervise or assist with supervision of undergraduate, taught graduate (Masters) or research graduate (MPhil/PhD) students.
To contribute to the development, planning and implementation of a high-quality curriculum related to Accounting.
To assist in the development of learning materials, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance.
To participate in departmental and faculty meetings/seminars aimed at sharing research outcomes and building interdisciplinary collaboration within and outside the department.
To participate in the development, administration and marking of examinations and other assessments.
To participate in the administration of the department’s programmes of study and other activities as requested.
To contribute to departmental, faculty, at Reformed Church University-wide working groups or committees as requested.
To maintain own continuing professional and Community development.
To actively follow and promote the Reformed Church University’s policies, including Equal Opportunities.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Master’s in Crop Science / Crop Protection, Agronomy, Plant Breeding and Bio-Technology.
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Crop Science, Agronomy or Agriculture.
PHD in Crop Science is an added advantage.
At least 1 year working experience in a similar or related position.
